NEW Scientist has created a web app that allows readers to find out how much caveman DNA they carry. It’s based on research from the Australian Centre for Ancient DNA located in Adelaide, Australia.
By asking readers for their ancestral homeland, it returns a breakdown of where their DNA originates — from ‘caveman’ hunter-gatherers, Neolithic farmers and Steppe pastoralists.
The Australian Centre for Ancient DNA, based at the University of Adelaide, is responsible for a number of breakthroughs, mapping humankind’s history and the evolution of ancient animals.
Use the app below to reveal how much caveman DNA you have, or visit New Scientist for the full screen app.
